GEORGE WESLEY HARGRAVE 

MR. GEORGE HARGRAVE, 69, DEAD 

  George Wesley Hargrave, 69, of Isle of Wight, died Wednesday at his home.

  A native of Isle of Wight County, he as the son of the late William 
Washington and Mrs. Julia Jones Hargrave.

  He was retired from the Newport News Shipyard and Dry Dock Co. after 42 
years of service.  He attended the Pine Grove Assembly of God Church.

  He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Clara Y. Uzzell Hargrave, two daughters, 
Mrs. John Pierce of Carrollton, Mrs. Gloria Kimrey, of Hampton; one son John 
W. Hargrave of Newport News, one brother, B.E. Hargrave of Carrollton, also 7 
grandchildren.

   A funeral service was held Friday at 4 p.m. in the Colonial Funeral Home, 
Smithfield, by the Rev. Curtis E. Grant of Pine Grove Assembly of God Church. 
Interment was in Mill Swamp Baptist Church Cemetery.

  Pallbearers were Charlie Jones, Bill Hargrave, Jonny Hargrave, Jerry 
Hargrave, S. Ray Turner, Bobbie Morgan.
