Harrell Funeral services for Walter Clem Harrell, 71, a prominent farmer of the Box Elder community, Nansemond County, who died at his home uenxpectedly yesterday, will be conducted Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at the I.O. Hill Funeral Home by Rev. James A. Coney, pastor of Box Elder Friends Church, Rev. R.T. Grissom, pastor of the Holy Neck Christian Church, and Charles Hutchinson, supply pastor of Antioch Christian Church. Burial will be in the Antioch Christian Church Cemetery, near Windsor. He was the son of the late Walter Scott Harrell and Mrs. Victoria Hayes Harrell, of Gates County. He was a member of the Gatesville Methodist Church. Surviving him are his wife, Mrs. Eva Carr Harrell; three daughters, Mrs. W.F. Wright, of Holland, Mrs. W.D. Crocker, of Suffolk, and Mrs. DeBordenave Blythe, of Franklin; seven sons, Walter C. Harrell and C. Staley Harrell, both of Portsmouth, Emmett G. Harrell and Clinton Harrell, both of Holland, Sidney F. Harrell and M. Hayes Harrell, and Earl H. Harrell, all of Suffolk; a sister, Mrs. Eva Felton, of Gates County; two brothers, Elijah Harrell, of Gates County, and P.B. Harrell, of Suffolk; 28 grandchildren and four great- grandchildren. ****************************************************************************** Harrell Rites Held Saturday Funeral services for Walter Clem Harrell were conducted Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at the Hill Funeral Home by the Rev. James A. Coney, pastor of Somerton Friends Meeting; the Rev. Charles Hutchinson, supply pastor of Antioch Christian Church, and the Rev. R.T. Grissom, pastor of Holy Neck Christian Church. The hymns, "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere" and "Beyond the Sunset," were sang by Mrs. Delmar Felton and Mrs. Samuel Felton, accompanied by Mrs. Webb Pinner. The pall was of pink roses, white carnations and white snap dragons. Active pallbearers were Shirley T. Holland, Lewis Duke, Hurley Holland, Sr., W.J. Wright, Thurman Copeland, Joe Henry Gardner, James Rawls and P.R. Rountree.
