A native of Charlotte [sic*], N.C., she was a former resident of Suffolk and the daughter of the late John Register and Mrs. Annie Bennett [Register]. Mrs. Horne was the wife of the late Letcher Horne. She was a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church and the Senior Citizens Center. Survivors include one daughter, Louise Hudgins of Pascagoula; three sons, Clayton E. Laws [sic; Lane] of St. Petersburg, Fla., Daniel C. Lane of Cumberland, Va., and William Lane Jr. of Norfolk, Va.; two sisters and three brothers; and 10 grandchildren. The funeral will be conducted Thursday at 3 p.m. in Antioch Christian Church, Windsor, Va. by the the Revs. Lindsey Poteat and Victor I. Hunter Jr. The body will be placed in the church at 1 p.m. for visitation. Burial will be in Antioch Church Cemetery. The family will be at the home of Mr. L. Nance, 4705 Norris Court, Hampton. (Find a Grave Memorial #107195856 &c.) Ollie 2m. William Marvin LANE (1899 - 1962) 3 Mar 1920 in Lumberton, Robeson Co., NC. He enlisted in the US Army Chemical Warfare Service 5 Mar 1940. They lived in Charlotte, Mecklenburg Co., NC, in 1930, and near Dillon, SC, in 1935, and in Little Coharie, Sampson Co., NC, in 1940. Divorced, he 2m. divorcee Gladys (WILDER) BIRKS, 30 Jan 1960 in Portsmouth. (Norfolk #121) They were predeceased by son James Robert LANE (1924 - 1954), who served as a USN Apprentice Seaman for three months until honorably discharged, just before WW-II. He was accidentally struck in the head by a crane, while at work in a Norfolk oyster house. He & his father are buried in Riverside Memorial Park (Rhododendron Sect., Lot 35), Norfolk. (Find a Grave Mem. #76214642) Their son Clayton Eugene LANE (1926 - 1991) served in the Navy. He is buried in Memorial Park Cemetery, St. Petersburg, Pinellas Co., FL. (Find a Grave Mem. #208702035) Their daughter Grace Louise (LANE; Mrs. Herman Nelson) HUDGINS (1929 - 2016) is buried in Griffin Cemetery, Moss Point, Jackson Co., MS.
