JONES SMITHFIELD - Funeral services for Edwin C. Jones will be conducted Saturday at 2 p.m. in St. Luke's Memorial Cemetery by the Rev. Fred Wyand, pastor of Trinity Methodist Church. The procession will leave the Colonial Funeral Home Saturday at 1:45 p.m. Mr. Jones, 81, died Thursday morning in Mary Immaculate Hospital, Newport News, after a long illness. A native of Isle of Wight County, he was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Novelle [sic; Norvelle] Paul Jones. He was retired from Gwaltney Packing Co. and a member of Trinity Methodist Church and its Wesley Bible Class. He was the husband of the late Mrs. Annie Maude Jones. Surviving are three sons, Norvelle Lee Jones of Denver, Maurice W. Jones of Smithfield and Edwin C. Jones Jr. of Virginia Beach; two sisters, Mrs. Selena J. Grandy of Virginia Beach and Mrs. Rose N. Jones of Norfolk; two brothers, James Joyner Jones of Virginia Beach and Thomas W.
