EDWIN C. JONES 

  SMITHFIELD - Funeral services for Edwin C. Jones will be conducted Saturday 
at 2 p.m. in St. Luke's Memorial Cemetery by the Rev. Fred Wyand, pastor of 
Trinity Methodist Church.  The procession will leave the Colonial Funeral Home 
Saturday at 1:45 p.m. 

  Mr. Jones, 81, died Thursday morning in Mary Immaculate Hospital, Newport 
News, after a long illness. 

  A native of Isle of Wight County, he was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Novelle [sic; 
Norvelle] Paul Jones.  He was retired from Gwaltney Packing Co. and a member 
of Trinity Methodist Church and its Wesley Bible Class. 

  He was the husband of the late Mrs. Annie Maude Jones. 

  Surviving are three sons, Norvelle Lee Jones of Denver, Maurice W. Jones of 
Smithfield and Edwin C. Jones Jr. of Virginia Beach; two sisters, Mrs. Selena 
J. Grandy of Virginia Beach and Mrs. Rose N. Jones of Norfolk; two brothers, 
James Joyner Jones of Virginia Beach and Thomas W. Jones of Smithfield; and 
four grandchildren.

EDWIN C. JONES 

  SMITHFIELD - Edwin C. Jones, 81, died Thursday morning in Mary Immaculate 
Hospital, Newport News, after a short illness.

  A native of Isle of Wight County, he was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Norville 
Paul Jones.  He was retired from Gwaltney Packing Co. and a member of 
Trinity Methodist Church and its Wesley Bible Class.

  He was the husband of the late Mrs. Annie Maud Jones.

  Surviving are three sons, Norville Lee Jones of Denver, Maurice W. Jones 
of Smithfield and Edwin C. Jones Jr. of Virginia Beach and Thomas W. Jones 
of Smithfield; and four grandchildren.

  A funeral service will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. in St. Luke's Memorial 
Cemetery by the Rev. Fred Wyand of Trinity Methodist Church.  The precession 
will leave Colonial Funeral Home at 1:45 p.m. Saturday.

Service Held Saturday for E. C. JONES 

  Edwin C. Jones, 81, of Smithfield, died Thursday, April 15, in Mary 
Immaculate Hospital, Newport News.  He was a native of Isle of Wight County 
and a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Norvelle Paul Jones of Isle of Wight 
County. 

  He was a retired employee of Gwaltney, Inc., Smithfield, an active member 
of Trinity Methodist Church, and a member of the Wesley Bible Class. 

  Graveside services were held Saturday at 2 p.m. at St. Luke's Memorial 
Cemetery by the Rev. Fred Wyand, pastor of Trinity Methodist Church. 

  Survivors include three sons, Norvelle Lee Jones of Denver, Colorado, 
Maurice W. Jones, Smithfield, and Edwin C. Jones Jr., of Virginia Beach; two 
sisters, Mrs. Selena J. Grandy, Virginia Beach, Rose N. Jones, Norfolk; two 
brothers, James Joyner Jones, Virginia Beach, and Thomas W. Jones, Smithfield; 
and four grandchildren.  He was the husband of the late Mrs. Annie Maude 
Jones.
