Jones Rites Saturday At Wakefield WINDSOR - Funeral services for Edgar Sydney [sic; Sidney] Jones will be conducted Saturday at 3 p.m. in Purviance Funeral Home, Wakefield, by the Rev. W.A. Grissom, pastor of Windsor Christian Church. Burial will be in Antioch Christian Church near Windsor. Mr. Jones, 83, died Thursday night in a Suffolk hospital after an illness of two months. A native of Louisburg, N.C., he was a retired carpenter. He lived in Windsor 20 years. He was a son of Edward Clayton and Mrs. Oleona Andrews Jones and the husband of the late Mrs. Eleanor O'Hara Jones [sic*]. He was a member of Windsor Congregational Christian Church and its Baraca Bible Class. Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. E.W. Edwards of Norfolk and Mrs. Sarah J. Whitley of Windsor. ****************************************************************************** Edgar S. Jones Edgar Sydney [sic; Sidney] Jones, 83, retired carpenter of Windsor, died Thurs., October 17, after an illness of two months. He was a native of North Carolina and had made his home in Windsor for the past 20 years. He was a member of Windsor Congregational Christian Church and the Barach Bible Class. He was the son of Edward Clayton and Oleona Andrews Jones and the husband of the late Eleanor O'Hara Jones. He is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Sarah J. Whitley of Windsor and Mrs. E.W. Edwards of Norfolk. Funeral services were conducted Saturday, October 19, by Rev. Wm. A. Grissom at 3:00 P.M. at Purviance Funeral Chapel, Wakefield, with interment at Antioch Cemetery near Windsor. Active pallbearers were: Weyland Joyner, Sidney Crocker, James Beale, Allen Bland, Herbert Lawrence and Zollie Johnson. Honorary pallbearers were members of Barach Bible Class of Windsor Christian Church.
