SALLY LUTER JONES 

   SMITHFIELD - Sally Luter Jones, 65, died May 5, in her home. 

   Mrs. Jones, a Nansemond County native, retired from Little’s 
Supermarket.  She was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church 
and was the widow of Dennis M. Jones.

   Survivors include a son, Carlos T. Howell of Eure, N.C.; two 
sisters, Catherine L. Pierce and Lucille L. Byrd of Suffolk; a 
brother, Edward W. Luter of Sunbury, N.C.; and a grandchild.

   The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. today in Colonial 
Funeral Home by the Rev. Maria M. Waters.  Burial will be in St. 
Luke’s Memorial Park.  Memorial donations may be made to Isle of 
Wight County Rescue Squad of Smithfield Volunteer Fire Department.
