All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ ALBERT HOWARD JOHNSON WINDSOR - Albert Howard Johnson, 59, said to be the only man who attended each of the first 35 annual conventions of Ruritan National, died Saturday morning while working on his farm near here. The 1966 Ruritan convention was the only one Johnson failed to attend since the first in 1931. In a newspaper interview before the meeting, he said that because of his health, he could not make the trip to Jekyll Island, Ga. He was a charter member and past president of Windsor Ruritan Club, formed in 1930. He was a member of Windsor Baptist Church and L.T. Hall Bible Class. He was a son of John Letcher Johnson and Mollie Nelms Johnson. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mildred Rhodes Johnson; a son, Albert Howard Johnson Jr. of Franklin; a daughter, Miss Judith Anne Johnson, and a brother, W. Russell Johnson both of Windsor, and a grandson. A funeral service was held Monday at 3 p.m. in Windsor Baptist Church by the Rev. Harold L. Rumfelt, the Rev. W.A. Grissom and the Rev. Edward C. Thornton of Beaver Dam Baptist Church. The body was at Baker Funeral Home. Pallbearers were J.D. Saunders, Zollie Johnson, Leroy Holland, Clyde Vaughan, Herbert Lawrence, Richard Holland, Dr. F.I. Steele, and Sidney Crocker.
