BERNICE TURNER JOHNSON

   IVOR - Funeral services for Bernice Turner Johnson, 65, were held Wednesday 
in Purviance Funeral chapel, Wakefield, by the Rev. Clarke Wiseman.  Burial 
was in the Mill Swamp Church Cemetery.

   Pallbearers were: R.H. Britt, Bobby Long, R.E. Eggleston, S.A. Brantley 
Sr., Bobby Ramsey, Fred Ashly, J. Russell West, Jack Leggett, and Herman Doss.

   The wife of J. Henley Johnson died Monday evening in Norfolk General 
Hospital.

   She was a native of Isle of Wight County and a member of Mill Swamp Baptist 
Church.  She was a companion nurse.

   Other survivors include a sister, Selma T. Hunter of Smithfield.
