A member of Mt. Carmel Christian Church, he was the son of the late James I. and Sallie Bradshaw Johnson of Isle of Wight County. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Eveline Duck Johnson and Raymond Johnson of Burdette and Floyd Johnson of Windsor; three daughters, Mrs. G.L. Parker and Mrs. Horace Bradshaw of Burdette and Mrs. J.T. Rainey of Franklin; 10 grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Ernest Gardner of Richmond and Mrs. Leon Nelms and Mrs. Josephine Cox of Norfolk; and two brothers, Cephus Johnson and Edward Johnson of Richmond. Funeral services for Mr. Johnson were conducted on Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock at Mt. Carmel Christian Church by Revs. Ellis Clark and Edwin Thornton. Burial was in the church cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Jasper Carr, Lonnie Carr, Lloyd Duck, Taylor Holland, Sherman Johnson, Clifton Joyner, Otis Joyner and Leonard Rose.
