ELIZABETH POWELL JOHNSON 

   PORTSMOUTH - A funeral service for Mrs. Elizabeth P. Johnson, 85, of 202 
Snead Fairway, Portsmouth, was held last week in Snellings Funeral Home by 
Dr. Thomas J. Powers.

   Burial was in Beaver Dam Baptist Church Cemetery, Franklin.

   A native of Franklin County, N.C., she lived here 30 years.

   She was the widow of Cordie Norfleet Johnson and a daughter of Jeremiah S. 
and Mrs. Martha Virginia Reid Powell.

   She was a retired house mother of Maryview Hospital Student Nurses.

   She was a member of Park View Baptist Church.

   Surviving are two daughters Mrs. Richard D. Ottavio and Mrs. Robert H. 
Whitley of Portsmouth; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
