Edward Johnson, a native of Isle of Wight county, Va., who has been a resident of Portsmouth for the last four years, died yesterday morning at 8 o'clock in the King's Daughters' hospital, Park View, from typhoid fever. He was forty-seven years of age. For some time past he has been in the employ of the Norfolk & Portsmouth Traction company as a street carman. He is survived by a wife, Mrs. Eula L. Johnson, who lives in Elm avenue, Prentis Place. Two sisters, Miss Mattie Johnson and Mrs. J.W. Johnson, also survive him, as well as six brothers, Joel, Mills T., James R., Julian, Irvin and E.S. Johnson. The funeral will take place this afternoon at 3 o'clock in the Prentis Place Baptist Church, the Rev. Kelly Hobbs, the pastor, officiating. Interment will take place was in the Oak Grove cemetery. ****************************************************************************** EDWARD JOHNSON The funeral of Mr. Edward Johnson took place this afternoon at 3 o'clock from the Prentis Place Baptist Church and the interment was in Oak Grove Cemetery. The pastor, Rev. J. Kelly Hobbs, conducted the services, assisted by Rev. C.J.D. Parker, pastor of Fourth Street Baptist Church. Mr. Johnson was a motorman in the employ the local trolley system of the Norfolk and Portsmouth Traction Company. His death occurred yesterday morning at the King's Daughters' Hospital from an attack of typhoid fever. He was 47 years of age. Mr. Johnson came originally from Isle of Wight County, but has been living in this city for the past four years, and his home at the time of his illness was in Prentis Avenue, Prentis Place. He is survived by his wife. He was a brother of Messrs. Joel, B.F., Mills T., James R., Junius and Irwin Johnson, Miss Hattie Johnson and Mrs. J.W.
