She was the daughter of the late George W. and Margaret Carson Johnson, of Isle of Wight County. She was a member of the Beaver Dam Baptist Church, where she served since childhood. Miss Johnson is survived by four sisters, Miss Lucy Johnson, Mrs. R.E.L. Kyle, and Mrs. Jachin Forbes, all of Franklin, and Mrs. J.R. Bracey of Carrsville, and a number of nieces and nephews. The remains were taken to the W.J.M. Holland & Sons funeral home. On Friday at noon the body was taken to Beaver Dam Baptist Church, where it lay in state two hours [...*]. The Rev. Edwin Thornton, pastor of the church, the Rev. N.C. Clifton of Lynchburg, former pastor, and the Rev. Ira D. Hudgins, pastor of the Franklin Baptist Church, officiated. Interment was made in the church cemetery. Active pallbearers were J.D. Wright, Jarvis Howell, Emmett Rawls, William Rose, John F. There is a line running through the print at the top and middle of many of the papers and it effected many of the obits. I've put elipses for the part that's missing.
