A native of Southampton County, he was a son of Mr. and Mrs. William Johnson and was a retired farmer. He lived in Zuni community the last 30 years and was a member of Tucker Swamp Baptist Church. Surviving is a brother, Peter Johnson of Ridgecrest, N.C. A funeral service was held at Purviance Funeral Chapel, Wakefield, today (Monday) at 2 p.m. by the Rev. J.W. Horne, pastor of Tucker Swamp Baptist Church, with burial in Windsor Cemetery.
