Johnson Slumps Over Wheel While En Route to Church Suffolk, Sept 10 - Falling across the wheel of the car which he was driving to Bethany Prebyterian Church Sunday night about 7:30 o'clock, J.T. Johnson, prominent citizen of Zuni, and charter member of Bethany Church, died almost instantly. Mr. Johnson with his mother, Mrs. Mollie Johnson and Mrs. Lewis, had started to church, and the car was climbing a hill when the occupants of the car noticed that Mr. Johnson was breathing with difficulty, and in an instant had fallen over the wheel. The frightened mother and friend discovered that death had stayed the guiding hand of their driver. Mr Johnson was 40 years of age, and besides his mother, is survived by four sisters, Mrs. J.E. Bradshaw of Zuni; Mrs. R.R. Rose of Walters, Mrs. Spain of Roanoke; Mrs. Grover Harrison of Zuni; and two brothers, J.R. Johnson and L.C. Johnson, both of Zuni. Funeral services will be conducted at the home Tuesday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock, by the Rev. Vernon Fisher, pastor of Bethany Church. Burial will be in the family cemetery.
