All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ JEFFERSON DAVIS JOHNSON Jefferson Davis Johnson, 79, well-known farmer of the Franklin community, died Thursday afternoon at his home in Isle of Wight County after an illness of a few weeks. Mr. Johnson was the son of the late Robert J. and Frances Vaughan Johnson, of Isle of Wight County, and husband of the late Olivia Daughtrey Johnson, of Isle of Wight. He was a member of Beaver Dam Baptist Church and Pythian Lodge of Franklin. Surviving him are three sons, Cordie N. Johnson of Portsmouth, Robert A. and J. Lawrence Johnson of Franklin; five grandchildren, Mrs. Helen Holland and Mrs. Hazel Whitley of Portsmouth, Elizabeth, Robert A., Jr. and John Lawrence, Jr. of Franklin; four brothers, Thomas, Frank and Jesse Johnson, of Franklin, and Dr. J.R.L. Johnson, of Williamsburg. Services will be conducted from the home at 2:30 o’clock Saturday afternoon, with interment in Beaver Dam cemetery. Pallbearers will be J.O.H. Daughtrey, Algie Daughtrey, W.H. Cutchin, James Johnson, Walter Rangley, Charlie Johnson, A.W. McClay, Jr. and Bruce Johnson.
