All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ JUDSON JOHNSON DIES AT WINDSOR William Judson Johnson, aged 51, died at his home in Windsor this morning at 1:25 o'clock, after an illness of several months. He was the son of W.R. Johnson and the late Mrs. Mollie B. Johnson. Besides his father he is survived by his widow, Lucy V. Johnson; two sons: Earl and William Judson, Jr., four daughters: Mary Virginia, Lucille, Doris and Olive Johnson, all of Windsor; two sisters: Mrs. E.L. Saunders of Norfolk and Mrs. Otis Holland of Windsor; two brothers, J.H. Johnson of Windsor and B.E. Johnson of Norfolk; two grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Johnson was a member and deacon of the Christian church of Windsor and took an active part in the work and affairs of the church up until his illness. Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 3 o'clock at Windsor Christian Church. Burial will be in Antioch cemetery. The services will be conducted by Dr. N.G. Newman, assisted by Dr. J.G. Truitt and the Rev. J. Sidney Cobb. ****************************************************************************** FUNERALS W. JUDSON JOHNSON Funeral services were held at 3 p.m., yesterday at Windsor Christian Church for William Judson Johnson, who died at his home on Wednesday. Honorary pallbearers were as follows: Jessie Saunders, T.R. Hingerty, K.E. Johnson, C.H. Sales, L.T. Hall, W.T. Joyner, R.T. Turner, E.L. Saunders, Rawles and Edgar Fulgham, T.M. Barrett, Tommie Johnson, Otis Hingerty, Sanky Johnson, Jake Bradshaw, Otis Holland, Mack Johnson, L. Bailey, T.A. Wells and Luther Richardson. The active pallbearers were S.T. Holland, J.R. Griffin, B.R. Hingerty, Dr. Steele, Shaby and M.M. Roberts, J.W. Jenkins and J.W. Roberts. Rev. N. G. Newman, assisted by J. Sidney Cobb, officiated. He was a member of Windsor Christian Church and held the office of deacon, and until his illness, took an active part in church work. He was the son of W.R. Johnson and the late Mrs. Mollie B. Johnson. Besides his father, he is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lucy V. Johnson; two sons, Earl and Judson, Jr., of Suffolk; four daughters, Miss Mary Virginia, Lucille, Doris and Olive Johnson, all of Windsor; two sisters, Mrs. E.L. Saunders, of Norfolk, and Mrs. Otis Holland, of Windsor; two brothers. J.H. Johnson, of Windsor, and B. Johnson, of Norfolk; and two grandchildren, Charles and Thomas Jonhson of Suffolk, and several nieces and nephews.
