Jenkins Rites At Mount Carmel Friday Funeral services for Joseph L. Jenkins, 76, who died at his home near Wakefield Wednesday afternoon, will be held from the home Friday afternoon, June 4, at 3:30 o'clock, with the Rev. A.W.H. Jones, a former pastor of the Wakefield Baptist Church, of which the deceased was a member, officiating. Burial will be in Mount Carmel Cemetery, Walters. Mr. Jenkins was one of the most progressive farmers in Wakefield District and had made his home here for the past 38 years. He was a native of Isle of Wight County. He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. J.S. Johnson, Walters, and Mrs. E.G. Reid, Palo Alto, Calif.; one son, S.I. Jenkins, Wakefield; four brothers, three sisters and five grandchildren. His father was a Confederate veteran, having served as a private in Co. D, 16th VA Infantry.
