A.W.H. Jones, assisted by the Rev. Mr. Pegram. Mr. Johnson is survived by his widow, who was Miss Mollie Nelms; three sons, John L. Johnson, Jr., Howard and Russell Johnson; one brother, J.A. Johnson, and four sisters, Mrs. W.H. Eley, Mrs. M. Wright, Mrs. John A. Holland, of Washington, D.C., and Mrs. Melza Rose, of Norfolk. Active pallbearers were: W.J. Rhodes, T.G. Bradshaw, J.W. Roberts, R.L. Eley, T.J. Dunston, Milton Johnson, John Ashburn, P.J. Powell, J.B. Archer, D.O. Savage, Sam W. Nelms, John N. Underwood, F.N. Ashburn, R.L. Daughtrey, W.J. Simons, R.A. Rhodes, S.T. Holland, John L. Eley, J.W. Babb, J.W. Williams, J.W. Johnson, W.J. Bradshaw, C.F. Joyner and Junius Bradshaw were honorary pallbearers. Burial was in the church cemetery.
