He was a son of the late Joseph and Mrs. Mary V. Johnson of Southampton County, his wife, Mrs. Catherine Cornelia Johnson, dying July 24, 1910. He is survived by two children, Walter M. Johnson and Mrs. Sallie E. Turner of Norfolk, and one brother, Henry W. Johnson of Burdette. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday afternoon from Mt. Carmel Christian Church by Rev. Elisha Bradshaw and the body bearers were: J.G. Duck, Richard Joyner, J.B. Bland, L.H. Carr, E.W. Ballard, Joyner Bradshaw, Lee Fowler and J.H. English.
