A native of Isle of Wight County she was a daughter of Charlie L. and Mrs. Nannie Saunders Tomlin and the widow of Walter Jasper Joyner. She was a member of Bethany Presbyterian Church. She is survived by five sons, Walter R. Joyner, Elton L. Joyner, and J. Goode Joyner of Zuni, Sidney A. Joyner of Odenton, Md., and L. Russell Joyner of Seaford; two daughters, Mrs. Mary Bradshaw of Suffolk and Mrs. C.D. Maynard of Richmond; a sister Mrs. Nelson Hunter of Zuni; 12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. A funeral service was held Monday at 2 p.m. in Bethany Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Harry Christie. Burial was in Holly Lawn Cemetery in Suffolk with Purviance Funeral Home, Wakefield, in charge. Pallbearers were Ocie Bradshaw, C.H. Johnson Jr., L.E. Eley, F.N. Carr, Rowland Lewis and Eldridge Turner. Bessie Mae (TOMLIN; Mrs. Walter J.)
