All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ JETHRO THOMAS JOYNER SUFFOLK, Nov. 26 - Jethro Thomas Joyner, 74, well-known resident of Isle of Wight County, died Monday afternoon at 5 o’clock at his home in Zuni. Mr. Joyner is survived by his widow, Mrs. Josephine Daughtrey Joyner; three sons, Thomas Quincy Joyner, of Nansemond, and W.J. and L.L. Joyner, Zuni; five daughters, Mrs. Etta M. Carr, Mrs. Llizzie Cones, Mrs. Obie Chapman and Mrs. Josie Mumford [sic; Munford], all of Zuni; and Mrs. H.R. Carter, of Roanoke; 41 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren and two half-brothers, Joseph Carr, of Newark, N.J., and Claude Carr, of West Virginia. Mr. Joyner was a member of Antioch Christian Church and an honorary member of the Knights of Macabees. Funeral services will be held at Antioch Christian Church Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock by the Rev. Dr. W.D. Harward, assisted by other ministers. Burial will take place in Antioch Church Cemetery.
