Lloyd Joyner, 69, a retired farmer of Isle of Wight County, died Monday night, June 28, at his home at Isle of Wight, Virginia, after a short illness. Surviving, are his wife. Mrs. Mamie P. Joyner; seven daughters, Mrs. E.S. Turner, Mrs. W.E. Mitchell of Smithfield, Va.; Mrs. Clevon Carr, Mrs. Clifford Harvell and Mrs. Joe Perry, all of Suffolk; Mrs. Louis Bowman of Surry, Va.; Miss Deanie Joyner of Isle of Wight: four sons, Elliott Joyner of Richmond; J.T. Joyner of Suffolk; Earle Joyner and Nurney Joyner of Smithfield; one brother, Jasper Joyner of Zuni, Va.; five sisters, Mrs. Etta Holland of Isle of Wight; Mrs. Hester Chapman of Windsor; Mrs. Lizzie Cones of Suffolk; Mrs. H.R. Carter of Roanoke; Mrs. Ocie Bradshaw of Zuni; and twenty-six grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews. He was a member of the Isle of Wight Christian Church and of the Men's Bible Class of that church. Funeral services were held in the Isle of Wight Christian Church on Wednesday, June 31, 1954. He was also a member of the Men's Bible Class of that church.
