RICHARD HENRY JOYNER 

   Richard H. Joyner, 81, a life-long resident of the Walter community, died 
at his home early Tuesday morning, August 25, after an illness of several 
months.

   The deceased was the husband of the late Sarah Holland Joyner, and the son 
of the late Elisha and Bettie* Carr Joyner of Isle of Wight County.

   A member of Mt. Carmel Congregational Christian Church, he is survived by 
one son, Clifton H. Joyner of Walter, and five grandchildren.

   Funeral services for Mr. Joyner were conducted in the chapel of W.J.M. 
Holland & sons on Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock by Rev. Ellis Clark of 
Windsor.  Interment was in the Mt. Carmel Cemetery.

   Pallbearers were Herman Bradshaw, Jasper Carr, Julian Carr, Lonnie Carr, 
Joe Davis, Wilson Holland, Otis Joyner and Robert L. Munford.
