Jordan, Sr. Succumbs at 54 SMITHFIELD - Randolph A. Jordan, Sr., 54, died last night in Obici Hospital, Suffolk, after a short illness. A prominent farmer and dairyman, he was a life-long resident of Isle of Wight County. He was a member of Benn's Methodist Church and of Chuckatuck Lodge 77, A.F. and A.M. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Agnes Burns Jordan, and his mother, Mrs. Annie A. Jordan, both of Smithfield; one son, R.A. Jordan, Jr., of Smithfield; two daughters, Mrs. Robert C. Claud of Windsor and Mrs. Henry M. Jones of Ivor; one step-son, Shirley W. Gamer, and one step-daughter, Mrs. Curtis Jones, both of Newport News; five sisters, Mrs. A.L. Glasscock of Chuckatuck, Miss Florence Jordan of Smithfield, Mrs. R.G. Britton of Norfolk, Mrs. Phitts Cornett of Cincinatti, Ohio, and Mrs. Fred Bailey of Winder; three brothers, Charles D. Jordan of Bradenton, Fla., William A. Jordan of Lawrenceburg, Ky., and Samuel P. Jordan of Omaha, Nebraska, and four grandchildren. A funeral service will be conducted Tuesday at 3 p.m. in Benn's Methodist Church by the Rev. Earle E. Henley, pastor, assisted by the Rev. Raymond P. Carson, a former pastor of the church. Burial will follow in Old St. Luke's Church cemetery, with Masonic rites at the grave. The body will be taken from the Bullock Funeral Home to the church one hour prior to the service.
