Buried Sept. 26th 
At Suffolk, Va. 

  Mrs. Essie Johnson King, 77, a former Suffolk resident, died early Wednesday 
morning, September 24 at the Patrick Henry Hospital, Denbigh, after a short 
illness.

  A native of Isle of Wight County, she was the widow of Willie C. King and 
daughter of the late John Henry and Mattie Eley Johnson of Isle of Wight 
County.  She was a member of the Suffolk Christian Church.

  Survivors are a sister, Miss Lillian M. Johnson of Norfolk; and two 
brothers, J. Sankey Johnson of Suffolk, and S. Wharton Johnson of Norfolk. 

  Funeral services were conducted Friday, September 25th, at 2 P.M. at the 
Hill Funeral Home by the Rev. George D. Alley, pastor of the Suffolk Christian 
Church.  Burial was in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
