MARY ALICE KING Suffolk, Nov. 7, - Mrs. Mary Alice King, 78, died this afternoon at 5:30 o’clock at her home in Windsor. She was a native of Nansemond County, and had lived in Windsor for 42 years. Besides her husband, Charles T. King, she is survived by three daughters, Mrs. M.C. Eley and Misses Martha and Bessie King, all of Norfolk; two sons, W.C. and C. E. King, of Suffolk, and a brother, Buck Ashburn, of Myrtle. Funeral arrangements had not been completed. ****************************************************************************** Suffolk, Nov. 8 - Funeral services for Mrs. Alice King, who died Thursday night at her home in Windsor, will be held Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the residence by the Rev. J. Sidney Cobb, assisted by the Rev. E.C. Deans. The body will be brought to Suffolk and burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery. Mrs. King is survived by her husband, Charles T. King; two sons, W.C. and C. Emmett King, of Suffolk; three daughters, Mrs. M.C. Eley and Misses Marietta and Bessie King, of Norfolk, and one brother, Buck Ashburn, of Myrtle. ****************************************************************************** Hold Funeral Rites For Mrs. Mary King Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Alice King were held at the residence in Windsor, Va., Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, conducted by Rev. J. Sidney Cobb, assisted by Rev. E.C. Deans, and Rev. Clark. Mrs. Edwards and Mrs. Eley sang "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere," accompanied by Mrs. Athens. Mrs. Archie Smither and J.L. Little sang "Crossing the Bar," as a duet, accompanied by Miss Mary Lee Powell. A quartet composed of Mrs. Archie Smither, Miss Mary Lee Powell, J.L. Little and Dr. Archie Smither, sang "Abide With Me," at the grave. There were many handsome floral designs, and a very large attendance. Active pallbearers were nephews of the deceased: Harvey Ashburn, John Ashburn, Parke Ashburn, Braxton Cutchin, Oscar Phelps, Willard Daughtrey, Dr. Ashley Cutchin. Friends of the family acted as honorary pallbearers. Interment was made in Cedar Hill cemetery.
