Lee of Isle of Wight County, a well-known resident of the Carrsville community, died unexpectedly from a heart attack at her home on Monday afternoon, April 11. She was the daughter of the late William and Betty Cherry White of Sampson County, N.C., and had lived in the Carrsville neighborhood for about 29 years. She was a member of Beaver Dam Baptist Church. In addition to her husband she is survived by a son, William Ray Lee of Newport News; four daughters, Mrs. Howard Blythe of Franklin, Mrs. H.M. Rogers of Richmond, Mrs. Franklin Vaughan of Windsor, and Mrs. Ruth Lee of Carrsville; five grandchildren; four brothers, Perry White and Raymond White of Salemburg, N.C., Franklin White of Trenton, N.C., and Murd White of Richmond; and one sister, Mrs. Thedia Royall of Salemburg, N.C. Funeral services for Mrs. Lee were held at Beaver Dam Baptist Church on Wednesday afternoon at 3:30 o’clock, the pastor, Rev. E.C. Thornton, officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery, the pallbearers being Wayland Perry, Nat Bradshaw, Everett Williams, Elvin and Percy Whitley, Roy Turner, Herman Butler, D.C. Blythe and Hinton Pope.
