Maj. ROBERT ALVIN LEWIS 

Retired Maj. Robert Alvin Lewis, the co-pilot of the bomber that unleashed 
the atomic bomb on Hiromshima and who later advocated a nuclear freeze, has 
died at age 65.

   Lewis, of Smithfield, Va., died of an undisclosed illness Saturday in 
Riverside Hospital in Newport News.  A funeral service was schedule today 
in Smithfield... (Eugene Register Guard, Eugene, OR, June 20, 1983)

Army Air Corps veteran of WW-II - co-pilot of the "Enola Gay," 
Brooklyn, NY native, d. 18 Jun 1983, Newport News, age 65,
