Lane, prominent Ivor citizen and merchant for many years, died at his home Wednesday morning after a lingering illness. Mr. Lane was 76 years old. He was a life-long member of the Ivor Christian Church and for 25 years was superintendent of the Sunday school. He also served as deacon in the church and as Sunday school teacher. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Naomi Varner Lane; a daughter, Miss Mildred Varner; a sister, Mrs. Minnie Barrett of Windsor, and several nieces and nephews. Services were conducted by the Rev. B.H. Watkins of Hickory, assisted by Dr. Elwood W. Jones of Franklin, Thursday afternoon at 4:30 o'clock. Pallbearers were D.H. Pulley, R.W. Pulley, H.W. Stephenson, W.C. Rawls, F.T. Joyner and Hugh Williams, interment being in Mt. Carmel Christian Church Cemetery. Benjamin H.
