EVELINA O. GRAY LAINE

PROMINENT WOMAN DIES, RITES TODAY

   Suffolk, March 1 - Mrs. Evelina O. Laine, wife of Edward W. Laine, aged 74, 
died suddenly Friday night at 11:30 o’clock at her home in Isle of Wight County. 
She is survived by her husband, two sons, W. Elliott Laine, county treasurer of 
Isle of Wight, and E. Littleton Laine, of Suffolk; eight grandchildren and one 
great grandson.

   Mrs. Laine was Miss Evelina O. Gray, daughter of the late William N. and Mrs. 
Matilda Gray, of Isle of Wight County, and died in the house in which she was 
born.

   She was a member of Woodland Methodist Church, and was prominently connected 
throughout Isle of Wight County.

   Funeral services will be held at Woodland Methodist Church Sunday afternoon 
at 2:30 o’clock by the Rev. R.V. Owen and the Rev. J.M. Roberts. Friends of the 
family have been asked to attend.
