LANKFORD Funeral services for Mrs. Charlotte C. Lankford, wife of Everett Lankford, who died at her home near Carrsville, Friday [sic; Saturday] after a long illness, aged 47 years, were held Sunday afternoon at 5 o'clock at Beaver Dam Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. W.D. Denson. The hymns, "Rock of Ages" and "Sometime We'll Understand," were sung by the church choir, and Miss Blanch Daughtrey sang a solo, "There Is No Night There." Interment was made in the church cemetery. Mrs. Lankford is survived by her husband, Everett Lankford; a son, Morgan Lankford, of Isle of Wight; four sisters, Mrs. Bettie West, Mrs. Sara Joyner, Mrs. R.L. Carr, Mrs. J.R. Howell; four brothers, Jesse, Byrum, Thomas and Paul Lankford, all of Isle of Wight county. Active pallbearers were Tom, Paul, Jesse and David Lankford, Edwin Whitley, R.L. Carr, W.H. Dalby; honorary, Frank Alten, Harry Carr, Harrell Whitley, J.A. Holland, Ocie L. Lankford, Emmett Gray and Herman Lankford.
