LANKFORD DIES SUDDENLY SATURDAY IN CARRSVILLE STORE U.G. Lankford, a well-known citizen and merchant of Carrsville, died suddenly Saturday, July 23, at three o’clock, with an attack of acute indigestion, age 42 years. His funeral was conducted Monday afternoon at 3 o’clock from Beaver Dam Baptist Church by his Pastor, the Rev. Geo. R. Pankey, assisted by Rev. L.F. Paulette of Holland and Rev. Elisha Bradshaw of Walters. Several selections were sung by the choir including a duet by Misses Blanche Daughtrey and Mary Eley, and a solo by Bob Crumpler. The floral offerings were numerous and beautiful. The body bearers were: Bynum, Jesse, Paul, Everett and Tom Lankford, Frank, Lawrence and Joe Gardner, and his body was laid to rest in the churchyard cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Effie Gardner Lankford, his father, Jesse Lankford, five sisters and three brothers. ****************************************************************************** News of Twenty-five Years Ago July 29, 1927 U.G.
