J. W. McEnerney, Of Bacons Castle Buried Sunday 

  James Wesley McEnerney, 66, of Bacons Castle died Dec. 13th at a Newport 
News hospital.  He was a native of Surry County and a member of the Mill Swamp 
Baptist Church. 

  He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Susie Little McEnerney; two daughters, Mrs. 
Thomas Cofer of Smithfield and Miss Peggy Anne McEnerney of Bacons Castle; 3 
sons, J.W. McEnerney Jr. and Clyde McEnerney, both of Newport News, and Gene 
McEnerney of Bacons Castle; six sisters, Mrs. Pete Hargrave and Mrs. Lena 
Christian of Richmond; Mrs. Doris Pittman and Mrs. Judson Johnson of Suffolk; 
Mrs. Shepherd Nurney of Pennsylvania and Mrs. Gladys Faulkner of Henderson, 
N.C. and a brother, Ray McEnerney of Isle of Wight County. 

  Funeral services were conducted December 15th at 2 P.M. at the Mill Swamp 
Church Cemetery by the Rev. J.F. Colston, assisted by the Rev. L.E. Holzbach. 
The procession left the Bullock Funeral Home in Smithfield at 1:15 P.M.
