All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ Jessie Munford Dies at Windsor Jesse Munford, age 71, son of the late Alexander Munford and Elizabeth Brock Munford of Southampton County, died at his home near Windsor at 9:45 last night. Surviving him are his wife, Mrs. Emma Outland Munford; two daughters, Mrs. C.R. Coiner of Hampton and Mrs. Lilton Pierce of Windsor; three sons, H.A. Munford of Hampton, Chesley A. Munford, of Windsor and Jack Munford of Suffolk; two brothers, Crawford Munford and Emmett F. Munford of Franklin; ten grandchildren and seven nieces and nephews. Mr. Munford was a member of the Windsor Baptist Church and a resident of Windsor community for 23 years. The body will be taken from the R.W. Baker and Company Funeral Home one hour prior to the services which will be conducted Thursday at 3 p.m. at the Windsor Baptist Church. The Rev. B.A. Riddle, pastor of the Windsor Baptist Church, and Rev. D.M. Hardison of the Baptist Tabernacle, will officiate. Burial will be in the Antioch Christian Church Cemetery. Members of the men's Bible class of the Windsor Baptist Church are requested to serve as honorary pallbearers. ****************************************************************************** Rites Held Thursday For Jesse Munford Funeral services for Jesse Munford, 71, who died Tuesday at his home near Windsor, were held yesterday at 3 p.m. at the Windsor Baptist Church. Rev. B.A. Riddle, pastor, Rev. D.M. Hardison, pastor of the Baptist Tabernacle, and Rev. Curtis Hoffman, pastor of Colosse Baptist Church, officiated. Mrs. John Avis and Mrs. Margaret Rhodes, accompanied by Mrs. Marvin Eley, sang "Beyond the Sunset" and the church choir sang "Safe in the Arms of Jesus." The pall was of red roses and white carnations. Active pallbearers were S.E. Roberts, W.H. Johnson, J.A. Whitley, John Hayes, M.A. Howell, and J.L. Babb. Burial was in the Antioch Christian Church cemetery.
