Edwin C. Thornton Jr. Burial was in the church cemetery. The body was taken from W.J.M. Holland & Sons Funeral Home to the church at 1:30 p.m. Friday. Pallbearers were E.L. Felton, W.S. Robertson, J.E. Rose, B.F. Dixon, Edwin L. Byrum, J.C. Rose Jr., J.D. Wright and Harry Butler Jr. March, 52, died Wednesday morning on arrival at Southampton Memorial Hospital, Franklin, after a heart attack. A native of Isle of Wight County, he was the husband of Mrs. Sadie Johnson March and a son of the late Harvey and Mrs. Nolla Lawrence March. He was a farmer. He was a member of Beaver Dam Baptist Church and Carrsville Ruritan Club. Besides his widow, surviving are a son, Jodie L. March of Carrsville; two sisters, Mrs. Edna Moffitt of Norfolk and Mrs. Elliott Johnson of Carrsville; seven brothers, George March and Floyd Thomas March of Norfolk; Bradshaw March of Richmond; Will Lawrence March and David Harvey March of Portsmouth, Ruben March of Holland, and Dalton March of Franklin, and two grandchildren.
