Marshall Died Yesterday Morning Suffolk, Va., Feb. 7. - R. Adolphus Marshall died about 1 o'clock this morning at the home of a sister, Mrs. N.E. Edwards, at the corner of Jackson and Charles streets. He had been ill only a few days. Mr. Marshall recently celebrated his 57th birthday by giving a dinner to a dozen or two friends. The funeral rites will be conducted at 10 o'clock Tuesday morning by Dr. Staley from the residence of Mrs Edwards. The deceased is survived by a widow, who was Miss Annie [sic; Eddie*] O'Berry, now a resident of Norfolk; one daughter, Miss Ruth Marshall, and two sons, Letcher and Robert Marshall. He was a brother of Mrs. F.N. Gray, Mrs. Clarence Edwards, Mrs. N.E. Edwards, Mrs. W.H. Andrews, Mrs. W.C. Batten, Thomas B. Lee, and Jack Marshall. Mr. Marshall was Suffolk manager of the Standard Oil Company. He leaves a number of friends in Suffolk and in Isle of Wight county, his former home. The body will be buried at Antioch church, Isle of Wight county. The following will be Suffolk pall-bearers: Honorary - Dr. Thomas H. Barnes, Dr. John E. Phillips, W.G. Elam, H.E. Smith, L.P. Jordan, J.H. Culley and R.R. Allen. Active - David R. Lassiter, J.W. Brinkley, M.F. Lloyd, W.J. Gray, Preston S. Brinkley, J.C. Bell, E.W. Hall and W.M. Atkinson.
