All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ EZEKIEL MARTIN Ezekiel Martin, well-known resident of Rescue and a shipwright, who was injured Sunday night, March 23rd, in an automobile accident at Elephant Fork on the Smithfield highway, and who was under treatment at Lakeview hospital, died Thursday night of his injuries. Mr. Martin was 42 years old. The body was viewed by Dr. Edward C. Joyner, coroner for Suffolk, and was removed to the home in Rescue. Funeral services were conducted Saturday afternoon at 3 o'clock at Riverview Church, Rescue. Burial was in the church cemetery. Mr. Martin is survived by five brothers, Walter L., Percy T., Charlie C., Benjamin F. and Jesse A. Martin, all of Rescue. Active pallbearers were Quincy Gilliam, Lawrence Spady, Lloyd King, Philip Murphy, Elmer and Johnnie Watkins.
