Nelms, I-W Woman, Succumbs SMITHFIELD, July 1 - Mrs. Annie M. Nelms, 73, wife of the late Jodie Nelms, of Isle of Wight County, died in Norfolk last night after a long illness. She had made her home in Newport News for the past three years with her sister, Mrs. Ed Spivey. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. J.E. Powell, of Franklin and Mrs. G.W. Turner, of Berlin, Va.; a step-daughter, Mrs. H.T. Baber, Sr., of Warwick; four sons, Eugene Nelms and M.T. Nelms, both of Smithfield; George Kello Nelms, of Baltimore, and Howard P. Nelms, of Suffolk; three sisters, Mrs. Spivey and Mrs. Mamie Baines, both of Newport News, and Mrs. Chesley T. Garner, of Orbit; 3 brothers, Sidney Vaughan, of Gates, N.C.; Rufus Vaughan, of Portsmouth, and Harrison Vaughan, of Ivor; 23 grandchildren and 21 great- grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Antioch Christian Church with the Rev. Ellis N. Clark officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The body will remain at the Jones Funeral Home until Friday at 1 p.m. at which time it will be taken to the church to await the funeral hour. ****************************************************************************** Mrs. Jodie Nelms Buried July 2 In Antioch Cemetery Mrs. Annie M.
