All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ Mrs. Roxie Nelms Is Buried Today ZUNI - Funeral services for Mrs. Roxie Wills Nelms were conducted today at 2:30 p.m. at Central Hill Baptist Church Isle of Wight County by the Rev. Carey L. Steele, pastor. Burial was in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were L.E. Crocker, Bob Crocker, Alvah Wills, Eugene Robertson, Jack Wills, Gordon Wills, Herbert Bradshaw, and August Jenkins. Mrs. Nelms, 78, died Monday night at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Jasper Holland in Zuni, after an illness of three years. Daughter of Matthew and Richenda Joyner Wills, she was the widow of William Decatur Nelms. A native of Southampton County, she had lived in Isle of Wight County 50 years and was a member of Central Hill Baptist Church. Mrs. Nelms is survived by another daughter, Mrs. Ruby Nelms Holland of Windsor, a son, William A. Nelms, a sister, Mrs. Maude W. Robertson of Zuni; two brothers, John R. Wills and Tony W. Wills of Windsor; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Roxanna "Roxie" (WILLS; Mrs. William D.)
