RUTH VIRGINIA WRIGHT OUTLAND 

   CARRSVILLE - Mrs. Ruth Wright Outland, 87, died Thursday at 1 p.m. in her 
home after a long illness.

   She was a daughter of Aaron and Mrs. Missouri Johnson Wright and the widow 
of Junius Leroy Outland.

   She was a native of Nansemond County, the oldest member of Colosse Baptist 
Church and a member of its Dorca Bible Class, Woman's Missionary Society and 
Crossroad Circle.

   Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. J. Leslie Babb of Windsor, Mrs. Letcher 
L. Turner of Suffolk and Mrs. Reidell H. Eason of Waverly; three sons, Leon E. 
Outland of Windsor, Fenton L. Outland of Richmond and Carlton R. Outland of 
Carrsville; two brothers, J.H. Wright and J.A. Wright of Carrsville; eight 
grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandson.

   Funeral services was conducted Saturday at 4:30 p.m. in I.O. Hill and Co. 
Funeral Home, Suffolk, by the Rev. Donald E. Trump and the Rev. Eugene 
Arrington.

   Burial was in Colosse Baptist Church Cemetery.

Her mother is marked in Beaver Dam Baptist Church Cemetery, near Carrsville. 
   Her father has been added to the list, but he was likely buried elsewhere; 
   a Confederate veteran, he d. 4 Apr 1884 in Nansemond Co.

Her mother's D.Cert. (1928-23236) gives buried Western Branch Baptist Church 
   Cemetery, in Nansemond Co. 

Her mother's Find a Grave Mem. #179329554 states that she was moved to 
   Beaver Dam from Black Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, in Southampton Co., 
   citing an interview with [grandson] James D. WRIGHT.
