LULA VIRGINIA CROWDER POPE 

   CARRSVILLE - A funeral service for Lula Crowder Pope, 84, was held 
Wednesday in Beaver Dam Baptist Church by the Rev. Richard Peerey. 
Burial was in the church cemetery with Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, 
in charge.

   Pallbearers were: Julian Carr, Raleigh Carr, Woodrow Johnson, Eddie 
Johnson, Jimmy Presson, and Richmond McCaskeg.

   Mrs. Pope died Sunday in a nursing home.

   A native of Southampton County, she was the widow of John Henry Pope. 
She was a member of Beaver Dam Baptist Church.

   Survivors include four sons, Hinton R. Pope, Eldridge Pope Sr. and 
James E. Pope of Carrsville and Marvin B. Pope of Franklin; a sister, 
Mattie Porter of Churchland; two brothers, B.F. Porter and Harvey Porter 
of Newsoms; nine grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

Widowed, her mother 2m. Willie Jas. Porter, 23 May 1894 (MB13:409). 
   They are buried in Hollywood Cemetery, Newsoms.
