Richard Peerey. Burial was in the church cemetery with Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, in charge. Pallbearers were: Julian Carr, Raleigh Carr, Woodrow Johnson, Eddie Johnson, Jimmy Presson, and Richmond McCaskeg. Mrs. Pope died Sunday in a nursing home. A native of Southampton County, she was the widow of John Henry Pope. She was a member of Beaver Dam Baptist Church. Survivors include four sons, Hinton R. Pope, Eldridge Pope Sr. and James E. Pope of Carrsville and Marvin B. Pope of Franklin; a sister, Mattie Porter of Churchland; two brothers, B.F. Porter and Harvey Porter of Newsoms; nine grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
