BRITT PULLEY Funeral Services For Mrs Pulley Take Place Today Funeral rites for Mrs Caroline C. Pulley will be held this afternoon at 3 o'clock from Central Hill Baptist Church in Isle of Wight County with services in charge of the Rev. A.J. Dickinson, pastor of the First Baptist Church here. Interment will be made in the Central Hill churchyard. Mrs Pulley, who was 80 years of age*, died Tuesday morning at 10 o'clock at the home of her daughter, Miss Mary E. Pulley, 216 Forty-third Street, after an illness which lasted about a week. She was a native of Isle of Wight County, where she had spent most of her life, coming to this city 8 years ago. Mrs Pulley is survived by five sons: William E. Pulley, of Isle of Wight; Richard E. Pulley, J.J. Pulley, G.R. Pulley and H.L. Pulley, all of Newport News, and 3 daughters, Miss Pulley, Mrs Maggie J. Burleigh, and Mrs. Agnes Lawrence, all of Newport News. Hardesty gives b. 6 Oct 1854, NC [& gives m. wrong - "16 Feb 1874"]. Her Confederate widow's pension application gives b. Greenville Co., NC, age 70, on 27 Mar 1922. Both her husband & father were Confederate soldiers. Her father, Wm. Robert BRITT, d. of disease 22 Jun 1862, Chimborazo Hospital No. 4, Richmond, & was buried the next day in nearby Oakwood Cemetery. The interment record gives Wm. B. Britt, Div. B, Row O, #110, but, at the end of the row, there is no marker.
