At Battery Park Miss Sylvia Jean Powell, 1-year-old daughter ot James M. and Martha Brown Powell of Carrollton, died in a Richmond hospital Sunday night after a long illness. Besides her parents she is survived by her maternal grandparents, Rev. and Mrs. R.E. Brown of Carrollton; her paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Rufus A. Powell of Hampton, and several aunts and uncles. Funeral services were conducted at 4:30 P.M. Tuesday in the chapel of the Bullock Funeral Home by Rev. J.J. Kiker of Hampton with burial in the Battery Park Cemetery.
