PULLEY BURIED LAST WEEK William Emmett Pulley, 60, of Smithfield, died at 1:20 a.m. May 29th at a local hospital after a short illness. He was a lifelong resident of Isle of Wight County. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Minnie Gwaltney Pulley; one daughter, Mrs. Harry Carr; three sons, Marvin, Frank and William E. Pulley, Jr., all of Windsor, 3 sisters and four brothers. The body was taken from the Roberts and Johnson Funeral Home Wednesday at 1:39 p.m. to lie in state at Central Hill Church until the hour of the funeral, 3 p.m. Services were conducted by the Rev. Norman Jacobs, former pastor, of Scottsburg. Burial was in the church cemetery.
