Mrs. Nancy G. Pond Buried Sunday In Mill Swamp Cem. 
            * * * 

  Mrs. Nancy Gwaltney Pond, 77, died at her home in Isle of Wight County 
Friday night after a long illness.  She was a native and lifelong resident of 
Isle of Wight and a member of Mill Swamp Baptist Church. 

  Surviving are her husband, John S. Pond; two daughters, Mrs. J.H. Jones of 
Norfolk and Miss Celia Ellen Pond of Isle of Wight; two sons, Charles H. Pond 
and John A. Pond, both of Isle of Wight; one sister, Mrs. William Nurney, of 
Isle of Wight; 13 grandchildren and three great grandchildren. 

  Funeral services were conducted in the chapel of Bullock Funeral Home Sunday 
at 2:30 P.M. with the Rev. L.E. Holzbach, pastor of Mill Swamp Church, 
officiating.  Burial was in the Mill Swamp Cemetery.

   by 26 June 1900, when she & their son Vernon  appear in the Census with her 
   parents Charles & Nancy Ellen [CLARK] GWALTNEY (Hardy Dist, IoW.Co.). 
   She 2m. John Sam POND, 27 Nov 1901, in IoW.Co.
