PINNER George W. Pinner, 83, prominent Isle of Wight County farmer, died at his home Tuesday night, at 6 p.m. The deceased is survived by his wife, Mrs. Maggie Pinner and two children by his first marriage Mrs. J.O. Chapman, Isle of Wight County; Mrs. T.W.. Bradshaw, Windsor. Four children by his second marriage, George, William, Katherine Pinner, Isle of Wight County and Mrs. F.W. Butler, Nansemond County. Three step-children, Mrs. J.S. Bowden, Richmond, Mrs. E.C. Stump, Hagerstown, Md. J.M. Chapman, Newport News, twenty-nine grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at Whitehead’s Grove Baptist Church Thursday afternoon at 3 o’clock with the Rev. T.W. Page officiating assisted by Rev. C.T. Pinner were held Thursday afternoon at 3 o’clock at Whiteheads’ Grove Baptist Church by the Rev. T.W. Page assisted by Rev. C.E. Garnes. The choir sang "Safe in the Arms of Jesus." "It Was Well with My Soul." They sang at the grave "God Be with You" "Till We Meet at Jesus’s Feet." Mrs. Ewing sang "Railway to Heaven." The casket was covered with Easter lilies and ferns. There were many other floral tributes. Active pallbearers were: S.G. Chapman, Webb Chapman, Leon Chapman, Grover Bradshaw, and Clyde Hogg. Friends of the family served as honorary pallbearers.
