Pierce, Of Windsor, Dead WINDSOR - Carey Gay Pierce, 75, Windsor merchant, died Tuesday night at his home here after a long illness. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 3 p.m. at the Bullock Funeral Home, Smithfield, by the Rev. William A. Grissom, pastor of the Windsor Congregational Christian Church. Burial will be in Antioch Christian cemetery. A life-long resident of Isle of Wight County, he was the son of Josiah and Mrs. Sally Gay Pierce. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ruth Bradshaw Pierce of the home; five sons, J.B. Pierce of Williamsburg; C. Eugene Pierce and Andrew J. Pierce of Windsor; Randolph M. Pierce of Courtland and Junius Gay Pierce of Lawrenceville; three daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Goodwin of Apex, N.C.; Mrs. Alice Uzzell of Suffolk and Mrs. Mildred Petro of Hyattsville, Md., 19 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. ****************************************************************************** CAREY GAY PIERCE Cary Gay Pierce Dies After Illness SMITHFIELD - Carey Gay Pierce, 75, well known merchant, died Tuesday night at his home in Windsor after a long illness. He was a lifelong resident of Isle of Wight County. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Ruth Bradshaw Pierce; five sons, J.B. Pierce of Williamsburg, C. Eugene Pierce and Andrew J. Pierce, both of Windsor, Randolph M. Pierce of Courtland and Junius George Pierce of Lawrenceville; three daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Goodwin of Apex, N.C., Mrs. Alice Uzell [sic; Uzzell] of Suffolk and Mrs. Mildred Pepro of Hyattsville, Md., and a sister, Mrs. Rufus Jenkins of Windsor. Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Thursday at the Bullock Funeral Home by the Rev. William A. Grimson, pastor of the Windsor Congregational Christian Church.
