Mrs. Evie A. Pierce, Buried Oct. 18th 

  Mrs. Evie A. Pierce, wife of James L. Pierce and a lifelong resident of Isle 
of Wight County, died at her home October 16th at 7:30 o'clock P.M. after a 
short illness. 

  She was a member of Central Hill Baptist Church and of its Ladies' Bible 
Class and Woman's Missionary Society. 

  Besides her husband she is survived by several nieces and nephews.  The body 
was taken to the Bullock Funeral Home.  Services were conducted Friday at 3 
P.M. at Central Hill Church by the pastor the Rev. T.N. Tombes.  Burial was in 
the church cemetery.  Pallbearers were W.D. and Robert Joyner; Harry and 
Wilbur Carr; John Whitley and Hugh Gwaltney.
