PERSONS SUFFOLK - March 12 - Thomas A. Persons, 84*, died at his residence near Windsor this afternoon at 4 o’clock. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Jane Vaughan Persons; one daughter, Mrs. Spurgeon Drake, of Suffolk; one sister, Mrs. Lucy Johnson, of Suffolk, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at the residence Friday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock by the Rev. J. Sidney Cobb. Burial will be in Western Branch Cemetery. ****************************************************************************** SUFFOLK - March 14 - Funeral services for Thomas A. Persons, who died Wednesday, were held today at 2:30 o’clock at the residence by the Rev. J. Sidney Cobb, assisted by the Rev. Dr. H.J. Goodwin. The church choir sang "Sometime We’ll Understand" and "Safe in the Arms of Jesus." Active pallbearers were George Hedgepeth, Sherman Roberts, John Ashburn, W.J. Crocker, J.T. Dunston, J.I. Cross, Moses Joyner and K.E. Johnson; honorary, Tom Carr, Bill Eley, Charles Rhodes, L.H. Edwards, Bruce Johnson, James Wright, Forest Pierce, Roy Johnson, John Mathews, Mr. Wright, A.A. Turner and A.M. Johnson.
