JESSIE WOLFENDEN PRUDEN

   CARRSVILLE - Mrs. Jessie Wolfenden Pruden, age 76 years, widow of Steven 
[sic; Stephen] Henry Pruden died Monday night at the home of her nephew after 
an illness of several weeks.

   She was a native of Wythe County, Virginia, but has made Isle of Wight 
County her home for the past fifty years.  She was the daughter of the late 
William C. and Martha Jane Whittington Wolfenden, of Wythe County and Dublin, 
Ireland.  A member of the Emmanuel Episcopal Church of Franklin for many 
years.

   Surviving are nine nephews and nine nieces.

   Funeral services will be held from the Holland Funeral Chapel Wednesday at 
4:00 p.m. by her pastor the Rev. Robert E. Davis, of Emmanuel Episcopal 
Church.  Burial will be made in Beaver Dam Church cemetery near Carrsville.

   Pallbearers were Lewis Walker, James C. Griffin, Stewart Winborne, J.F. 
Duke, Jr., Billy Barrett and Jimmy Griffin.
